A.Ayam and GATE Distribution Sign Partnership Agreement

Manila, May 10, 2024 – A.Ayam, a food sauce manufacturer from Brunei, signed a partnership agreement with GATE Distribution, a well-established distribution company in the Philippines, at the recently held International Food Exhibition (IFEX) Philippines 2024 at the World Trade Center. This collaboration aims to introduce A.Ayam’s range of sauces, including Kolo Mee Sauce, Black Pepper Sauce, and Sambal Geprek, to the Philippine market.

The contract signing ceremony, which took place during the highly successful event was attended by representatives from both companies led by A.Ayam’s Managing Director, Marcus Tan, who expressed optimism about the partnership, noting the potential of reaching customers in the Philippines and his belief that their sauces will resonate well with Filipino consumers. GATE Distribution’s General Manager, Butz de Castro, on the other hand, emphasized what a great opportunity it is to become the official distributor of A. Ayam’s sauces for the Philippine market, saying its uniqueness would satisfy the Filipino palate. GATE Distribution, known for its extensive network and experience, will be responsible for importing, marketing, and distributing A.Ayam’s products.

During IFEX Manila, A.Ayam offered free tastings of their sauces, which received enthusiastic feedback from attendees. Many praised the authentic and rich flavors, particularly highlighting the distinct taste of the Kolo Mee Sauce and the spicy kick of the Sambal Geprek. The positive reception at the event further underscored the potential success of A.Ayam’s products in the country. Outside Brunei, the Philippines is the second country where the sauces are going to be made available, next to Singapore.

With this partnership, GATE Distribution is now set to serve more new merchants across the Philippines, ensuring that A.Ayam’s sauces are available in various retail channels, hotels, restaurants, and supermarkets. This move is expected to enhance the culinary options for Filipino households.

The IFEX Manila provided a fitting venue for the contract signing, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in the food industry. As A.Ayam’s sauces become available in the Philippines, consumers can look forward to trying new flavors that combine traditional Bruneian recipes with contemporary tastes. The collaboration between A.Ayam and GATE Distribution is anticipated to contribute positively to the local food scene.
